Yeah it's long But read at least the first two paragraphs.
one time we were riding on a greyhound outta reno, and there was this guy on it. We got off went to another bus in slc then transitioned again, but at the stop he was there too. And he started to talk to this guy, and told this story about him in Reno, that just happened to him.
He said, he came across this German shephard, the dog liked him and he hung out with it for like 2 days or something and then while he was sleeping he was arrested, and taken to jail. In the morning he went before the judge and the judge said, you are being charged with kidnapping an officer of the law. How do you plea? And he replied "The officer did not identify himself sir." And the judge and the whole court room busted up laughing, and said "time served, you're free to go" I thought It was pretty cool to hear this story because that we were just in Reno.
This was all after me and my friend were in Ogden trying to make it to slc so we could hitch a ride to California, cause neither of us had been to Cali and didn't have any other way. And came back through Reno.
But in Ogden we started to talk to this drifter. He said he was waiting for his friend. Then he showed us what train to get on and everything. We ate at the homeless shelter in Ogden station it was an experience. Then he went to show us cause he didnt wanna go, but decited to go with us anyway. And we rode the train straight across The Great Salt Lake(Swarms and Swarms of nats out there). Anyway it was pretty cool I guess, The train broke down on us, and we had to hitch a ride to the next town.
The guys name was Terry, he said in 20 years of riding trains he's never been on one that's broken down. So we caught another train, jumped on it while moving, pretty fuckin intense when you have to throw a 60-70 lb pack onto it first. Then got to Roseville California(apparently Roseville is the best homeless shelter in the western US). And at that shelter he saw his friend he lost while train riding, he was taking a shit, when the train was in the pit. And it started to go within like 3 mins, and he just wasn't ready, and Terry had to throw his friends gear off the train, and he searched for him for like 6 months until that day. Pretty cool I guess.
By the way, you want a fuckin awesome ride to cali... Take that train. it's the ride you don't get in a car There are bridges from almost mountain peak to mountain peak. Redwoods everywhere, tunnels. Terry said it's def one of his favorite. He told us about a tunnel in montana that the chances are you will die if you arn't inside cause the tunnel is so long, and because of the carbon dioxide coming off the train. Yep, later....... I guess they(the man with the badge) try to check all the trains before they go into that tunnel cause people of course have died and I think still do sometimes.
