Benjamin Franklin Hibschman, son of John and Catherine Hibschman, was born in Ohio, December 29, 1835 and departed this life April 19, 1919, aged 83 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Near Warsaw, Indiana, in 1857 he was married to Miss. Margaret Jane Bowen and after ten years residence there they came to Illinois which has been their home state since. Eight children were born to this union, three dying in infancy and Andrew and Mary Ellen after reaching maturity. His wife died in February, 1917. There are left to mourn his death, George of Dudley, Illinois, Mrs. Sarah Jane Black and Mrs. Emma Jewell of this place, also 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
During his early married life, he united with the Church of God at Martinsville and a few hours before his wife died, told her he would be with her so on. Uncle Ben as he was familiarly known was a pioneer of CLARK COUNTY and an obliging neighbor, a kind father and an affectionate husband.
Funeral services were held at the Lincoln Church on April 21, Rev. Fitzgerald conducting and interment was in the Rupp Cemetery.
