I'm just saying, by the music you listen to, you have become a corporate whore. You've limited yourself to music that isn't even the best of that genre. I don't see you saying anything about Thursday. They were the founding fathers for screamo. Or maybe saosin. Atleast they have some talent in their music. If you like talent, Opeth. They're amazing.

I like these guys and they wanna come here.
controlling the famous
We are all corporate whores. We have no choice in this matter. We are all trendy. We buy what is sold to us and we are all suckers. You wanna know the longest running trend in the world--it's trying not to be "trendy." There is some magnetism surrounding the outcasts. When we see these people, part of us yearns to be different--just like them.

agreed. also, don't say you listen to emo, when you listen to trendy music with all the other 13 year-old girls in the world. Emo is- The Get Up Kids, Juliana Theory, Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate.... and if you listen to any CD by any of these artists, you'll realize that what you listen to is not only crap, but it also isn't emo. hahaa well now, personaly i think that emo is a very wide genre of music, and can be expressed in alot of diffrent ways. (ps..i never said any of the bands you mentioned were emo) the only one on my list that isnt really emo is the format but personaly i think the rest are but who gives a damn what genre they are, why should that matter i'll keep my opinions and you keep yours, but dont insult me for it thats why i try to put it pleasently technically the format is as Emo as Bach is adult contemporary. my idea of emo i somewhere between clint and josh Fugazi Sunnyday real estate Pedro the Lion etc

Everyone needs to go listen to Jawbreaker. its the weirdest thing: the Kinison said their biggest influence was Jawbreaker. for some reason i didn't hear the connection.

Thats kind of funny, because to my knowledge The Kinison is (or shoudl I say was?) bigger than Jawbreaker.

Thats kind of funny, because to my knowledge The Kinison is (or shoudl I say was?) bigger than Jawbreaker. Jawbreaker was WAY before the Kinison. Their first single under the name Jawbreaker was released back in 1989. One of Jawbreakers founding members Blake Schwarzenbach was also one of the three guys who started "Jets to Brazil". Also, and I quote. "Their fourth album, Dear You, was recorded by Rob Cavallo in February and March of 1995 in Berkeley, CA and came out on vinyl and CD on Geffen Records in September of 1995." Geffen Records is HUGE. And Rob Cavallo is a big name in the recording world in his own right. A compilation CD for Jawbreaker is coming out featuring Name Taken ::: Want Bayside ::: Chemistry Kill Your Idols ::: Do You Still Hate Me Riddlin Kids ::: Jinx Removing Face to Face ::: Boat Dreams From The Hill Duvall ::: Busy Travoltas ::: Bad Scene, Everyone's Fault The Aeffect ::: Boxcar Fall Out Boy ::: Save Your Generation Big Wig ::: Ashtray Monument For Amusement Only ::: Shield Your Eyes Sparta ::: Kiss the Bottle The Reunion Show ::: Unlisted Track Drawn From Endings ::: Jet Black Fifteen ::: Better Half Counterfit ::: Million I promise you jawbreaker was bigger than the kinison you just weren't old enough to catch it.
