If i hated God then it would be formatted like this:
God, I hate you so much.
Punctuation is amazing thing. I also understand that could throw you off because it's at the beginning of the sentence, therefore by default god would be capitalized, if I were referring to God himself anywhere else in the sentence then I would capitalize the 'g' because God himself is a proper noun. The confusion between a proper noun and the beginning of the sentence is valid, sorry to confuse you.
With all grammar and punctuation aside, I don't believe in God. Thus, I hate Sean. I also sound smart!
