I don't think it's a dramatic change from the previous album at all. I think their last album was more poppy than this one. Isn't dance music pretty much pop? I would say it is. I'd say this album has more Glassjaw influence in it. I like how it is more Rocky. I think they progressed a lot as a band with this album. I can listen to this whole abum all the way through. Decadence wasn't as solid as an album. Keep in mind, they got like 2 new members with this release.
I dig the new album.

decadance is dumb compared to popaghanda
ben is right this album is more rocky than that annoying dancy shit.
That's the whole point of head automatica, they're a pop-rock band to the max, that's what is so cool about them, at least they do it well. The lyrics in this cd are a little more sarcastic than in decadance. "God" is a sweet song, i personally feel it's a lot better than decadance and definately a step up from it.
decaDANCE, POPaghanda.
Does anyone else see a theme going on here or am i just crazy?

Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin'
Iron And Wine - The Creek Drank the Cradle.
Mates of State - Team Boo
Metric - Live it out
Moving Units - Dangerous Dreams
The Red Light Sting - Rub Em Out
The Shins - Chutes to Narrow or Oh, Inverted World

Popaganda is one of the best recent albums I've listened to.
Daryl said himself that they just wanted to do something new. He said he is sick of seeing people trying to cover up what music they are...
He wanted pure pop, and thats what you get.
It still has dancy stuff, like oxycontin.

now if you want a great new cd
Rise Against - The Sufferer And The Witness.
July 4th! pick it up! It'll be worth your time and money well spent.
