yo chekkit a brand-spanking-new CD from the SLC rockers VILE BLUE SHADES is coming out on aug 26 called 'WE'RE HERE, WE'RE HIGH' and i'm here to tell you a little bit about it. w-w-wait, who are the vile blue shades, you ask? they're the newest addition to the exumbrella records roster (home to tolchock trio, red bennies, taughtme, will sartain, etc) - a percussion-heavy 12-piece band, writing twisted pop-songs masquerading as hazy drum-jams & psychedelic poetry, led by a love-lost madman smearing his beer-soaked heart all over the microphone. uhh, or they just write really great tunes that you'll be singing for days. either way anyway, this new album has been a long time in the making and is an absolute juggernaut of a record - it is the best record i have heard come out of this state in a long time. we're all really, really stoked about it, which is why we're putting it out on exumbrella. i'm going to shut up now and just give you some links where you can hear some tracks and purchase mp3's and the disc. this is ryan from tolchock trio, btw. i also help out w/ exumbrella records. hiiii you can purchase an actual disc when it comes out on aug 26 @ www.exumbrella.com, but you can buy mp3s right now from www.slctunes.com, if you're into that ipod/internets/'puter sort of thing. (you crazy kids and your technologies, blah blah blah </grandpa simpson>) hear some songs from the new record @ www.myspace.com/vileblueshadesthanks for your time! i'm going to try and get them up to logan sometime pretty soon. if any of you want to help me book them, email me @ sentridoh_i@yahoo.com

Did anybody go to this? I was sceptical because they sound different on album. However, live they are a force to be reckoned with. The amount of force that is put into the rythmns and the sheer excess of instruments going on at the same time (they have 12 people in the band) make it extremely intoxicating. Not to mention I was intoxicated. (Blame it on the crazy Russians that kept buying us shots of jagger.)I'm defiantly going to push them into playing a show up in Logan.

That's not true. if you provide a crowd ie a reason to come up, I don't see why they wouldn't. Some of them have come up in the past. The Brobecks go to Boise all the time.
