Well Global Warming is true in a historical sense. The earth heats and cools in cycles. The earth has been cycling through this phenomena for thousands of years. The term Global Warming and Climate Change have been used in extremely loose ways. Al Gore was a genius when he threw the polar bear story into An Inconvenient Truth. People felt bad for polar bears, so they started to agree with his "Theory," if you could call it that.
What many people think of as Global Warming has been going on since the Pleistocene Ice Age. After this ice age, the earth has seen various temperature changes. It has seen Mini Ice Ages mixed with temporary reprieves from them, which we are currently in right now. Keep in mind, all of these terms are relative.
These periods came long before the industrial revolution and the internal combustion engine. Is what people need to realize is, this Global Warming Gore speaks of, is not man-made. This is all a cycle. Climate Change isn't as intense as everyone says it is. It DOES exist, just not as extreme as people say it is. Take a trip up to the Fossil Butte Park near Kemmerer, Wyoming and you will find proof. This proof being palm trees and exotic fish fossils. Our children aren't going to be living in 100-plus degrees year round. People are taking it to too extreme of a sense.
I'm just getting sick of people blaming mankind for this Global Warming. It's ridiculous. You can't mess with the earth's cycles. If man caused Global Warming, we'd probably still be seeing glaciers all over North America, because it would have just begun.
That being said, I do believe we need to watch our consumption of goods. I, as much as you, enjoy a healthy earth. I just don't buy the man-made theory. I don't think it will change, I think we just need to get used to it.
I guess I should have made that clear when I started this thread. I only had a couple minutes.
