9. bouncing souls - the gold record
i thought that the gold record was a straight up peice of trash. I love the bouncing souls through and through and i jumped at the chance to add this one to my collection. especially since i think their last few albums have just been getting better and better. anchors away is the shit. but to be honest i could barley make it though the new thing. i gave it away in a week. it didn't have the enegry you expect from the bouncing souls. i think they needa stop touring and releasing so much shit and focus on writing cool songs instead of mopy shit like the pizza song. and letter from iraq is the ONE fast song. sorry but the bouncing souls are made to play fast. i hope this record is just a stint, kinda like hopeless romantic, and that they can recover from this and move on to some good stuff.
no one probly cares about this but i wanted to rant about this for a while since the bouncing souls are so cool while this record is not.

In no particular order.
Rx Bandits - And The Battle Begun... Easy Star All-Stars - Radiodread Cursive - Happy Hollow Aggrolites - Self-Titled Greg Graffin - Cold As The Clay Muse - Black Holes and Revalations Bouncing Souls - The Gold Record (i actually really enjoyed this cd despite factions beliefs) Mars Volta - Amputechture Westbound Train - Transitions and the very recent but climbing up very fast: Incubus - Light Grenades.
I was losing hope for them, Morning View was meh and A Crow Left In the Murder was a let down, but this new one is looking hopeful, i'm very impressed.
I had no idea Ignite had a new album either, i'm gonna have to go check it out. Fucking love Ignite

I really wasn't impressed with this years new records, but the Mars Volta's Amputechture was amazing. A lot of inspiration has spawned from countless days listening to it.

My favorite album this year is by far-
Saves The Day - Sound the Alarm. I've quite literally been listening to it none stop since Gnate gave it to me... Its incredible. It has really opened my eyes to a different genre of music.
I think that Mars Volta - Amputechure is WAY better than Frances The Mute, but it could never top De-Loused in the Comatorium.
I'm also digging Thursday - City By The Light Divided (I love how different it is compared to War All The Time or Full Collapse) Rocky Votolato - Makers... Sufjan Stevens - Avalanche Damien Rice - 9 (I didn't like it at first, but I've changed my mind) Thom York - The Eraser (just awesome) Belle and Sebastion - The Life Pursuit (Sukie in the graveyard and funny little frog are my favorite songs)
What Cd's were you really excited about, but were let downs?
I'd say: The Sound Of Animals Fighting - Lover, The Lord Has Left Us Saosin - Saosin (After listening to Translating The Name for a few years, this CD BLOWS) Mates Of State - Bring It Back (they really did bring it back... its almost the same as their other cds)
Oh how I love music.
